We are excited to bring back the Partners in Education (PIE) program for the 2018-2019 school year! One of our very own 8th graders designed this program last Fall. With the help and support of many of her middle school peers, the program had a wildly successful first year.

What is PIE?
PIE is a peer-led tutoring program available to students in Grades 1 through 5. Peer tutoring services will be offered immediately after school and will include homework and/or project assistance or review of subjects/materials that students may need reinforced.

When does PIE begin?
During the 2018-2019 school year, we will offer three sessions:

Session 1: October 1 through November 15
Session 2: January 7 through January 31
Session 3:  March 4 through April 11

Who can participate?
Students in Grades 1 through 5 can receive tutoring.

Who are the tutors?
Middle school students in Grades 6 through 8 will provide tutoring.

Where will tutoring take place?
Students will be tutored in either of the 3rd Grade classrooms.

When will my child receive tutoring services?
Students will choose to stay after school either one or two days per week, Monday through Thursday. No tutoring services will be offered on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

How does my child sign up?
Students in Grades 1 through 5 are recommended for tutoring services by their teacher.

Interested in being a tutor?
Students in Grades 6 through 8 can either be recommended by their teachers or can volunteer themselves to serve as a tutor. Prospective tutors must have a demonstrated mastery of the subject with which they will be assisting other students. Tutors can choose to earn merits or volunteer hours.

What’s next?
Permission slips will go home with students who were recommended by their teachers to participate either as a tutor or tutee by September 12. Be on the lookout! Recommendations are suggestive only and no one is required to participate.
