6th Annual Mr. Maher Haircut Challenge
Date Posted: Monday, 27th May 2019

Each year since 2013, SEES 5th grade teacher Mr. Chris Maher has been challenging students to raise money for charitable causes by allowing the class that raises the most money to shave his head into a creative style of their choosing.

This year for his annual haircut challenge, Mr. Maher teamed up with Change for Children, benefiting the Children’s Hospital Foundation. SEES raised $7,200 in only five days for Children’s Hospital of Richmond with over $2,200 raised by Ms. Stackow’s winning class. Mrs. Stackow’s class had the honor of shaving Mr. Maher’s head!

We are so proud and thankful that the SEES community once again was so generous in helping others!

Congratulations Mrs. Peggy Gulledge, SEES Teacher of the Year! As a Middle School Social Studies Teacher at SEES for 12 years Mrs. Gulledge instills in her students a love of learning, an understanding of what it means to be a skilled historian, and an overall sense of justice for all humanity. Added to this, she displays a very professional demeanor and the students respond well to her precision and instruction.

Mrs. Gulledge represented SEES on May 9, 2019 at the Office of Catholic Schools Award Dinner when she was recognized publicly for her accomplishments.
