Student Athletics Updates

5th through 8th SEES Swimming

Beginning in early November, the SEES swim team will start practicing two afternoons each week. All practices will be one hour long. Practices will be held at St. Catherine’s School, 6001 Grove Avenue Richmond, VA 23226. We currently have a 4-meet schedule, with the first meet taking place in early December. All participants must be skilled swimmers who can swim a 50-yard freestyle and/or are able to swim 50 yards of one other stroke. Judy Gywer and Elizabeth Kelley will be coaching the SEES swim team. Saints JV Relay Meet – Thursday, December 12th – Relays Only*This meet starts at 6pm and should be done around 7:45pm.  It is a lot of fun and we hope to have more teams join us this year.  We moved this meet from a Friday to a Thursday to avoid some of the Friday night conflicts that folks may have given the holiday season.

Saints JV Invite – Friday, January 10th – Typical Middle School Events*This meet starts at 6pm and should be done around 8pm.  This is our most popular meet, so the teams that competed last year will have first priority on entering the meet this year.  If you did not come last year, but are interested, I can put you on the waiting list and get back to you after I have heard from all teams confirming their attendance.

Saints Last Chance Meet – Friday, February 7th – Typical High School Events*This meet starts at 6pm and should be done around 8:15pm.  In addition to MS/JV swimmers, there may also be some Varsity swimmers at this meet attempting to get state cut times.  These varsity athletes will not be scored.
