Admissions Information for St. Edward-Epiphany School

Registration for students entering Saint Edward-Epiphany School is ongoing, beginning on the Tuesday after Labor Day for the following year. A request for enrollment is taken over the phone. The family is invited to attend an informal meeting with the principal regarding school programs.  At the informal meeting with the principal, parents will have the opportunity to formally apply to the school by filling out an Admission Form for their child(ren), and attaching the application fee to the form. This form actively places the child on the waiting list for the upcoming year. It does not guarantee placement in St. Edward-Epiphany School.

Age Requirements

Students entering pre-school must be four years old by September 30th and students entering kindergarten must be five years old by September 30th. Formal developmental screening for both pre-schoolers and kindergartners takes place in the early spring of the year prior to entry. The screening is done at school and the results will be shared with parents.

Transferring

Students entering grades other than pre-school or kindergarten will be considered for admission to Saint Edward-Epiphany School after a thorough review of prior educational records, including report cards, standardized testing and/or any additional educational/psychological testing. The child's previous school principal and/or teacher may also be contacted by the principal.

Students in grades four through eight are required to write an autobiography to be submitted prior to entry into the school program. Due to limited class size, siblings are given priority for acceptance, followed by parishioners and non-parishioners.

Immunization Information

New students entering Saint Edward-Epiphany School must have the proper immunization shots as prescribed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. School immunization forms are available in the school clinic or office. School records and health forms for transfer students must be obtained from the child's previous school. Parents must sign a release form at the former school in order for the records to be sent to Saint Edward-Epiphany School.
